Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Cross River State weekend previewed the advantages of the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu/Sen.Kashim Shettima Presidency to the people of the state and emphasized the need for total support to the presidential bid of the duo.
They all agreed that the incoming administration will be of immense advantage to the state and that the support to actualize that dream it must be massive and total.
The event was the formal inauguration of the Grassroots Independent Campaign Council,ICC, a body charged with the responsibility of driving the campaign of the Presidential hopefuls to the hinterlands at the Tinubu House,Mayne Avenue, Calabar.
Over 40 of the State Steering Committee Members, including Local Government Coordinators took oath of office as was administered by Dr.(Barr) Bassey Ekpenyong during the event.
In separate remarks, stakeholders mentioned the rich democratic credentials and political antecedents of Tinubu and Shettima as the basis for their position.
Chairman of the occasion,Elder Prof. Eyo Etim Nyong said the duo have all it takes to lead the nation to greater heights.
According to him,although opponents have resorted to cheap smear against the duo,which he observed are common practice during electioneering exercises, however noted that majority Nigerians are aware of the goodwill and advantage the Tinubu/Shettima Presidency was capable of bringing to the nation.
He charged the newly inaugurated ICC leadership to brace up for the task ahead.
Coordinator-General of the Campaign Council in the state, Elder (Dr) David Okon in a prepared text captioned "Renewed Hope,The Message: Jagaban,The Messenger;ICC,The Disciples: Nigeria,The New Paradise,"said the Tinubu/Shettima Presidency was coming with renewed hope to sustain the hope which the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had restored to Nigerians, having been elusive before the APC leadership of the country.
He said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has the potential of bringing "renewed hope for a new Paradise Nigeria as the giant of Africa."
Accordingly he said: "Obviously, without these efforts (of Muhammadu Buhari administration) hope would be forgone in our nation.
"Then enters Jagaban of Africa,our own dear Bola Ahmed Tinubu,His Excellency,very Distinguished Senator,APC National Leader,Architect of Lagos template, Builder of Men and infrastructure, Political Strategist with Midas touch,and the incoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the Messenger with the winning agenda of Renewed Hope for a new Paradise Nigeria as the true giant of Africa."
Describing the ICC as the Disciples appointed to deliver the message to all Nigerians,to vote Jagaban, Elder Dr Okon said the inauguration is to formally kick-start the activities of the campaign body in the state.
He predicted that the Tinubu/ Shettima Presidency would bring greater developmental prospects to the state adding that the victory of the duo was most desirable.
"We need the victory for our maritime industry; out tourism renewal,the Bakassi resettlement,and surplus appointment of our people into National Assignments and Offices."
Furthermore,he said all factors point to over 90% victory for the APC Candidates in the state.
"As the Disciples; with the high premium placed on ICC; with out state leading the South South; Jagaban and wife's visit to our state; the Vice Presidential Candidate being a Calabar Boy;a Coordinator-General who has traversed the nooks and crannies of the state,and as a one time Deputy Governorship Candidate of the defunct ACN,and the arsenal of Grass-rooters in our support base,Cross River must and will deliver above 90% to the Tinubu/Shettima mandate."
In their goodwill messages,Mrs Catherine Agba Ajibike of the Rural Electrification Agency,Abuja; Elder Comrade Iso Bassey Edim of the ICC Directorate,Abuja,Pst. Dave Irek and Beatrice Akpala of the Presidential Campaign Council,PCC,as well as Dr. Mrs Margaret Kajang,Venerable Austin Oqua,Mr. Bassey Ita Edet,all Special Advisers to Governor Ben Ayade and Dr. Job Napoleon and Prof.E.E Enang from the support groups affirmed their resolve to actualize the Tinubu Shettima mandate at the February 25 presidential election.
They charged the newly inaugurated Steering Committee to go about their campaigns with pride in view of the goodwill the candidature of Tinubu and Shettima was capable of attracting.
