One of the most surprising of all the surprises is how people who were not only part of the problem but were the problem repackage themselves as saints and solution providers. Regardless of their past records we were all aware of.
People who are suppose to be in jail or quietly quite in retirement and regretting their actions in the past have the affront to present themselves as saint that will tell us how to better our lives.
Recently a serial coup plotter, a man who has participated in every act of rape, thievery and looting of our dear Nigeria endorsed a Presidential candidate to us, well the endorsement was within his rights and we cannot query that but directing the said endorsement to us the Youth seems a bit way too condescending to say the least.
General Obasanjo has the right to endorse anyone but directing such endorsement to us the youth seem not only weird but insulting to our sensibilities as victims of Obasanjo's and Obi's gross misconduct as public officers. We are wiser now and we will never cajoled into making yet another deadly mistake of chosing incompetence and outright failure over genuine and verified track records clearing before our very eyes. We choose capacity over sentiments and result over hatred. No one will use us to massage their ego.
I'd always shy away from commenting on issues relating to the elder statesman due to my immense respect for him but this is kind of too provocative that I cannot help but say word. I cannot help but say no sir we refuse to be used, we refuse to be cajoled and we refused to be intimidated.
Dear Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo whoever deceived you that you're a saint that person has done a great disservice to you and you should consider seeing that person as your enemy more than a friend. Nigerians have not forgotten your recent escapades as President of Nigeria and how your government supervised one of the greatest rape of our common wealth through your friends and cronies in the name of privatisation. A process that left Everyone in your circle a beneficiary except Nigeria.
We're also aware and yet to forget your human rights records in Zaki Biam, Odin and other parts of Nigeria where you oder the mass murder of innocent citizens for crimes done not by them but by few of them. If it was someone else by now you must have written a thousand letters in protest.
Sir we are also aware of your less than holy family life, the accusations and counter accusations of which you were the center of all the scandals. Having put all these into consideration and your present masquerading as a saint who is now a paragon of civilisation baffles me and lead me to the conclusion that " If Anenih was alive he could have endorsed a candidat." This piece will continue on a later date but for now I will round up by pleading with you.
With due respect sir pls leave us alone.
