All of a sudden the supply chain has broken down, the long forgotten fuel queues are back and fuel attendants have became lords overnight with black marketers plying their trades in every corner of our urban and rural areas selling products at exorbitant prices.
One will only but wonder, as at today the best place to buy black market fuel products are mostly in front of the NNPC filling stations which are under lock and keys. There is no fuel anywhere for ordinary Nigerians but somehow miraculously the black market merchants are never short of supply as if they got their supplies from heaven.
We could remember some few months ago when the fuel queues resurfaced in Abuja and some Northern parts of the country which seems to persist against all odds but same queues miraculously disappeared after a marching oder by the president to DSS to fish out marketers hording fuel.
Immediately after that directive by the president and the subsequent disappearance of the long queues in less than 24hrs Nigerians from different walks of life began to see the true picture. There are fifth columnist in the game whose motives seems unclear at that time, but gradually becoming clearer by the day.
Less we forget at the same time the fuel queues resurfaced all of a sudden the national grid collapsed thus no fuel, no light leaving Nigerians to the mercy of the black marketers who were often seen celebrating the mischief in broad day light.
Similarly few weeks ago, the national grid collapsed, the fuel queues are back and to make matters worst Nigerians from the rural part of the country that made up 80% of the population of the country are at the verge of loosing their hard earned savings due to shortage of the newly redesigned Naira notes amidst CBN's insistence of no going back from the 31st January deadline.
To make matters worst the government seems to be at lost, the forces of darkness are at the verge of winning with fifth columnist from both withing and outside the system upping their game just because of the elections.
They have sworn to make life unbearable for Nigerians, they have sworn to make them hate the current governing party with the help of willing collaborators with the same party in oder to achieve their selfish goals, they don't care whose ox is gored, they don't care how many people die in process neither do they care how many people got bankrupt.
This is indeed a serious challenge to president Muhammadu Buhari, if there is anytime we need the general in him it's now.
Why because his legacy and everything He stands for are at stake. In the words of the ancient Roman writer Nichoolo Machiavelli people more easily forget the lost of their parents than that of their properties.
President Buhari must put an end to this madness, he must prove to Nigerians that He is still the General they voted for and he must do so fast. There is no better time than now. A stitch at a time saves nine.
