Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has formally signalled his entry into the 2027 governorship race in Kebbi State, setting the stage for what observers describe as a major political realignment ahead of the next election cycle.
Malami made the declaration during a strategic meeting with members of the Kebbi State ADC Aspirants Forum, where party stakeholders, loyalists and supporters gathered in what quickly turned into a high-energy political mobilisation event.
The former minister, who received a rousing welcome from supporters across various local government areas, declared his intention to contest the governorship seat under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), promising what he described as “a new direction anchored on justice, development and inclusive governance.”
