“My track record speaks for itself,” Makinde said when asked why he is the best candidate to represent the constituency again. “I’ve consistently delivered on my promises, and my commitment to the Progressive family is unwavering. I’ve worked tirelessly to improve lives, and I’m ready to take it to the next level.”
During his term, Makinde initiated the modern city gate project, pushed for the establishment of the Yakooyo Hospital, and ensured progress on the Aluti Erin Hospital project — efforts he believes will transform the community.
On fostering unity and collaboration, he emphasized: “I’m willing to work with anyone who shares our vision for a better constituency. I respect and value the wisdom of our Obas and traditional leaders, and I’m committed to preserving our traditions while addressing the community’s needs.”
Makinde also highlighted his focus on youth and women empowerment through skills training, entrepreneurship programs, and educational initiatives. “Empowering our youth and women is crucial to progress. They must be included in decision-making and development programs,” he stated.
When asked about his loyalty to the Progressive family, Makinde explained that his commitment stems from principles, not personal gain. “From AD, AC, ACN to APC, I’ve remained steadfast. My loyalty is to the ideology and welfare of our people, not opportunism,” he said, acknowledging the support of key leaders, including Hon. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alh. Oyetola.
Makinde concluded with a message to APC leaders: “Ile Ife needs a ranking personality, someone who knows the people and has a proven record. I’ve walked the talk.
