The Hypocrisy of Nigerian Politics: Unity Against External Foes, Neglect of Internal Woes

We are a nation that stands strong in the face of external threats, united in our diversity, and resolute in our determination to defend our sovereignty. Irrespective of tribe, religion, political differences, and culture, we put aside our differences to protect our nation from the unapologetic evil Western world plotting against us. Yet, amidst this display of patriotism, our leaders are woefully neglecting us, ignoring the very issues that affect our daily lives.

Insecurity rages on, with kidnappings, banditry, and terrorism becoming a norm. Our infrastructure is in shambles, with bad roads, epileptic power supply, and dilapidated healthcare facilities. Unemployment is rife, with many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet. Our leaders, however, seem unfazed, prioritizing their personal interests over the welfare of the masses.

The sad reality is that our leaders are more interested in decamping from one party to another, jockeying for position, and scheming for re-election in 2027. Their actions are driven by a desire for power and personal gain, rather than a commitment to serve the people. They peddle division, fueling ethnic and religious tensions, to further their own interests.

This is the height of hypocrisy. Our leaders claim to be champions of Nigerian unity, yet they are the very ones perpetuating division and strife. They wave the flag of patriotism, but their actions betray a callous disregard for the plight of the average Nigerian.

It's time to speak out against this deceitful game. We, the Nigerian people, demand a better deal. We need leaders who are genuinely committed to solving our problems, not just advancing their own careers. We want a Nigeria where every citizen can enjoy peace, quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

The moment for transformation is now. We must insist that our leaders account for their actions and deliver good governance. Our nation's welfare must take precedence over individual and party interests. This is the only way we can build a Nigeria that is truly united, prosperous, and strong – a nation that works for all its citizens.
