The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has issued a strong rebuttal against what it described as “false and misleading” claims by its expelled former member, Mr. Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, insisting that he no longer holds any position within the party.
In a statement released on 30th October 2025 and signed by the State Chairman, Elder Patrick D. Ambut, the party clarified that Mr. Mustapha was lawfully expelled on October 21, 2025, after “thorough deliberations and constitutional procedure” by the State Executive Committee. His removal, the party stated, was due to gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and insubordination, in violation of Article 22(h) of the ADC Constitution.
According to the statement, Mr. Mustapha’s expulsion followed several months of internal reconciliation efforts and appeals from senior party members and coalition partners, all of which he reportedly ignored. The ADC described his continued claims of leadership and public representation of the party as illegal and contemptuous of party authority.
Elder Ambut reaffirmed that the only legitimate leadership of the ADC in Kaduna State remains under his chairmanship, a status which has been verified and recognized by the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Chairman of the ADC. He dismissed any factional group loyal to Mr. Mustapha as “self-serving political impostors” without approval from the national leadership.
The statement also accused Mr. Mustapha of collaborating with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the last local government elections in the state. The ADC alleged that Mustapha, while serving as the former Kaduna IPAC Chairman, publicly endorsed the APC and made “false declarations on national television” that the elections were peaceful, even though, according to the ADC, “none took place.”
“This act of betrayal remains one of the clearest proofs of his collaboration with the ruling APC to subvert opposition interests in Kaduna State,” the statement read. “No responsible opposition party would retain a leader who so blatantly undermines its cause.”
Elder Ambut further explained that all reconciliation efforts were exhausted before the expulsion decision was taken, adding that the move was necessary to preserve discipline, unity, and the integrity of the party.
Despite what it described as “propaganda from expelled members,” the ADC maintained that it remains united, active, and strong across all 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, with ongoing mobilization and grassroots engagements led by the recognized state executive.
“The ADC in Kaduna State is not for sale and will not bow to the antics of political moles planted by external interests,” the statement added.
In conclusion, the Kaduna ADC urged the public, security agencies, and media organizations to disregard any statement or action from Ahmed Tijani Mustapha, warning that the party would take legal action if he continues to impersonate or act on behalf of the ADC.
