WARRI, DELTA STATE — The New Delta Grassroot Movement (NDGM) has debunked viral allegations claiming that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Chief James Ibori are beneficiaries of billions of naira from the Tantita pipeline surveillance contract. The group described the claims as false, malicious, and part of a coordinated smear campaign driven by political desperation.
The allegations, popularized in a satirical video by Diamond Dietanuru Osakorigho, also known as Pararan, and amplified by social media influencers like @blessed_gaga, alleged that Tantita Security Services, owned by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), was paying ₦1.6 to ₦2 billion monthly to Omo-Agege and Ibori for operations in Urhobo land.
NDGM National Coordinator, Engr. Felix Akpoyibo, dismissed the claims as baseless and challenged the accusers to produce any credible evidence.
“There is no record—no document, no contract, no official report—that links Senator Ovie Omo-Agege or Chief James Ibori to any financial payments from Tantita. These are deliberate lies spread to discredit Delta’s most prominent sons for political gains,” Akpoyibo stated.
The group warned Pararan to stop lending his platform to political blackmailers and focus his energy on holding accountable those truly accused of corruption.
“Instead of chasing shadows and attacking innocent men, Pararan should direct his outrage at people like former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who has been charged by the EFCC over trillions of missing funds. That is where his voice is needed, not in spreading unfounded gossip,” Akpoyibo added.
The NDGM also accused Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of sponsoring a media war against perceived political opponents ahead of the 2027 elections.
“We are aware of the media blackmail coming from Government House. Governor Sheriff must stop using state-sponsored bloggers to attack respected Deltans. He should focus on governing, not divisive campaigning ahead of the 2027 elections,” the group warned.
The NDGM reaffirmed its support for Omo-Agege and Ibori, stating that both leaders have made selfless contributions to the progress of Delta State and should not be dragged into baseless controversies.
“This campaign of lies will not stand. We will continue to speak the truth and defend our leaders against politically motivated blackmail. The real enemies of the people are those looting the treasury and distracting the public with fake news,” Akpoyibo declared.
NDGM called on all well-meaning Nigerians to reject propaganda, focus on facts, and demand accountability from those truly responsible for the state’s economic challenges.
