The National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, touched down at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, as part of his visit to condole with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and respected statesman, was received by party loyalists, political associates, and well-wishers who gathered at the airport to welcome him. His visit to Katsina comes days after the passing of the elder statesman, whose death has continued to draw nationwide tributes and high-profile condolences.
According to sources close to the NNPP leader, Kwankwaso is expected to proceed to Daura, the hometown of the late president, where he will pay his respects and offer condolences to the bereaved family. The visit underscores a sense of national unity and respect for legacy, transcending political affiliations.
The condolence visit is part of a broader wave of national mourning and reflection following the death of the former president, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023 and was a dominant figure in the country's political evolution for over four decades.
