The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), has approved the appointment of 11 new permanent secretaries into the state civil service.
This was disclosed in an official statement released by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown, on Tuesday. The statement noted that the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed officials would be held at a later date to be communicated by the government.
The appointments are seen as part of ongoing administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening the state bureaucracy for more effective service delivery.
While the names of the appointees were not disclosed in the statement, Dr. Brown assured the public that the selection process followed due diligence and merit, aligning with the vision of the Sole Administrator to reposition the civil service for greater productivity.
Vice Admiral Ibas, who assumed the role of Sole Administrator amid the ongoing political crisis in the state, has taken steps to stabilize governance structures and reinforce institutional capacity.
