The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting a mixture of sunshine, cloudiness, and isolated thunderstorms across the country from Monday through Wednesday.
According to the agency’s report, most northern states will experience predominantly sunny skies with chances of isolated thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours. In contrast, the central and southern regions are expected to see more cloud cover, accompanied by moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
NiMet warned that some areas may experience strong winds associated with thunderstorms. The agency urged residents to take precautionary measures, including securing loose items, avoiding driving during heavy rainfall, and staying indoors during stormy conditions.
Airline operators have also been advised to obtain detailed, region-specific weather forecasts from NiMet for effective flight planning and operational safety.
