A respected businessman and traditional titleholder from Bunza, Alhaji Faruk Madawakin Bunza, has declared his unwavering support for former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to emerge as the next governor of Kebbi State.
Alhaji Faruk made the statement during a recent courtesy visit to Malami in Abuja, where he emphasized the urgent need for a new face in Kebbi’s leadership to rescue the state from years of administrative decay, wasteful spending, and poor governance.
According to the Bunza community leader, Kebbi State has suffered enough from stagnation and deserves a bold, visionary leader with the competence and national exposure to reposition the state for sustainable development.
“We need a man of proven capacity and experience. Kebbi has been badly mismanaged, and our people are bearing the consequences. We can no longer afford to sit back while the state bleeds. Abubakar Malami SAN is the new face we need to end the cycle of waste and bad governance,” Alhaji Faruk said during the visit.
He described Malami as a man with deep understanding of governance and institutional reforms, referencing his years of service at the federal level as a testament to his administrative acumen and national influence.
“Our call is not sentimental. It is a call rooted in reality. Kebbi needs someone who can plug financial leakages, attract investments, and restore public trust. Malami has what it takes,” he added.
Alhaji Faruk also called on traditional leaders, youths, business stakeholders, and civil society in Kebbi to begin mobilizing support for Malami, stressing that the time to rescue the state is now.
The endorsement comes as conversations intensify around Kebbi’s political future, with citizens and stakeholders increasingly expressing the need for leadership that can deliver genuine progress.
