In a dramatic and emotional appeal, the Kebbi State Chapter of the National Youth Caucus has publicly called on former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to intervene and rescue the state from what they described as the grips of bad governance.
Led by Comrade Aliyu Yauri, a grassroots mobilizer and key figure in the political landscape of Kebbi, the group’s message carried both moral and strategic weight. Yauri, who has served on the election-winning committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, declared that their movement is driven by a clear commitment: to dislodge the current administration under Governor Nasir Idris, also known as Kaura.
The youth group, speaking during a press conference in Birnin Kebbi, lamented the deteriorating state of affairs in Kebbi under the current administration, citing rising poverty, lack of basic infrastructure, and increasing insecurity as clear signs of leadership failure.
“We have come on our knees, not out of weakness but from a place of deep concern and desperation,” the leader of the group stated, visibly emotional. “Kebbi is sinking. Our people are suffering, and our future is at stake. We believe only someone with the political weight, national experience, and genuine concern for the people like Malami can pull us out of this mess.”
The National Youth Caucus praised Malami’s track record as a seasoned administrator with a national perspective and described his silence in the face of Kebbi’s challenges as disappointing. They insisted that now is the time for him to step forward and offer leadership to salvage the state.
They further accused the current government of turning a deaf ear to the yearnings of the people, mismanaging public funds, and creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. “We are not safe. We are not heard. And we are not fooled by the PR tactics of those in power,” they added.
The group urged all well-meaning citizens, especially political stakeholders and elders in the state, to rally around the call for Malami’s intervention before things spiral out of control.
