In a decisive move that signals the growing momentum behind the 2027 political realignment in Kebbi State, the National President of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, Comrade Sanusi Zazzagawa, paid a strategic visit to the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), at his private office in Abuja today.
During the meeting, Comrade Zazzagawa passionately called for the emergence of a “Malami Project” to salvage Kebbi State from what he described as “a looming crisis of visionless leadership and missed opportunities.” He emphasized that Kebbi State, once a beacon of development in the Northwest, needs a seasoned and visionary figure like Malami to return it to the path of progress and prosperity.
“We can no longer stand by and watch the slow decay of our state. Malami’s experience, national network, and dedication to public service make him the right man to rescue Kebbi in 2027. This is not about politics; it is about the future of our people,” Zazzagawa declared.
The Arewa youth leader expressed confidence that with proper mobilization and stakeholder engagement, the people of Kebbi would overwhelmingly back Malami if he chooses to contest in the forthcoming governorship election. He also hinted that consultations are ongoing across youth groups, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders to build a united front.
In response, Malami welcomed the visit and appreciated the gesture of solidarity. While he did not confirm any political ambition, he reiterated his unwavering commitment to the development of Kebbi State and the empowerment of its people.
Political analysts view this visit as a significant development in the lead-up to the 2027 elections, suggesting that the groundwork for a major comeback may already be underway.
