Among those who have joined the APC is Lady Emana Duke Ambrose, who served as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections. Her move is seen as notable given her recent prominence in the state’s political affairs.
Also announcing his defection is Hon. Daniel Asuquo, a former three-term representative of the Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency and senatorial candidate under the Labour Party banner in 2023. Professor Edde Iji, the state chairman of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), has also joined the APC, effectively collapsing the party’s structure into the ruling party in the state. Additionally, Ntufam Maurice Omini-Iso, a former PDP stalwart from the Enang Ayie Clan in Calabar Municipality, has declared his membership with the APC, bringing with him supporters from the local political base.
