Digital Governance Redefined: FG Unveils Online Platform for Citizenship, Business Management

By Eve Omayrs

In a bold stride towards modernizing public service delivery, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Interior, has launched a groundbreaking Online Citizenship and Business Management Platform. This move, anchored in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, signals a significant leap in transparency, efficiency, and digital transformation across government operations.

The announcement came via a statement issued on Friday by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, who underscored the platform’s strategic role in ongoing institutional reforms. According to the statement, the platform is designed to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks and enhance user experience by offering a streamlined, end-to-end digital interface for both citizenship and business-related services.

From managing business permits for local and foreign enterprises to administering work authorizations through a robust Expatriate Quota System, the platform offers a seamless process that ensures legal compliance and operational ease for investors and employers alike. The citizenship component allows users to apply, track, and manage Nigerian citizenship applications with unprecedented convenience and clarity.

“The Ministry of Interior remains committed to establishing a more efficient, transparent, and secure framework for citizenship administration, while continuously enhancing service delivery through digital transformation,” the statement noted.

Stakeholders—including individuals, corporate entities, and prospective expatriates—can now access the platform via the Ministry’s official website at https://interior.gov.ng, or directly at https://candb.interior.gov.ng. Inquiries and technical support are available through [email protected].

With this initiative, President Tinubu’s administration is once again demonstrating its resolve to reposition Nigeria as a digitally-driven, investor-friendly nation that embraces reform, fosters trust, and empowers progress.
