Former Minister of Interior and ex-Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has once again reaffirmed his commitment to restoring progressive governance in Osun State as he addressed party stakeholders at the Local Government Leadership Stakeholders’ Meeting of the Omoluabi Progressives held today.
Speaking at the meeting, Aregbesola described the gathering as a moment of reflection and rededication to the ideals and shared vision of the Omoluabi Progressives, a political tendency within the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC). He urged members to remain confident and united, stressing that the goals of the movement are not only realistic but divinely destined for success.
“We are deeply convinced that God is with us,” he said. “What remains is for us to continue mobilising support and strengthening our base so we can achieve success.”
The former governor noted that only those with divine insight can perceive the events leading to the 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun, adding that God has already ordained the outcome in their favour.
Aregbesola called for unity and steadfastness among party members, noting that internal cohesion is key to achieving the group’s objectives. He emphasized that the journey to reclaim Osun for true progressive leadership requires renewed commitment and resilience from every member.
“I reiterated that the goals of our movement are realistic and achievable,” he stated, “but we must remain united and steadfast to reach our destination.”
Highlighting the growing strength of the movement, Aregbesola expressed joy in welcoming new members from various sectors of society into the Omoluabi Progressives fold. According to him, their inclusion symbolizes the growing public trust in the group's ideology and plans for Osun's future.
The stakeholders’ meeting served as a platform for recommitment and strategic planning, setting the tone for what appears to be an early mobilisation drive ahead of the 2026 elections.
With this renewed momentum, the Omoluabi Progressives are positioning themselves as a formidable force in the political reawakening of Osun State.
