President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart for Paris, France, on Wednesday for a short working visit, the Presidency has disclosed. In a statement released by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will focus on evaluating the administration’s mid-term achievements and reviewing key milestones in governance.
The statement further revealed that the President will use the retreat to assess the impact of ongoing economic and political reforms, ensuring a strategic roadmap for the second half of his tenure. "This working visit will provide an opportunity for a comprehensive review of policies and initiatives, allowing for necessary adjustments to accelerate national development," Onanuga stated.
Highlighting the administration’s economic successes, Onanuga pointed to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s latest report, which shows a remarkable surge in net foreign exchange reserves to $23.11 billion—an indicator of the effectiveness of Tinubu’s fiscal policies, considering the reserves stood at $3.99 billion in 2023.
Despite being away from the country, the President will remain actively engaged with his team, ensuring the smooth running of government affairs. According to the statement, President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria in approximately two weeks.
