Sources within the oil giant told Abuja Network News that the shake-up forms part of a broader strategy to reposition the company’s downstream assets ahead of a new operational era, especially as the nation inches closer to refining its own petroleum products after decades of import dependency.

For too long, the trio of refineries — once the pride of Nigeria’s industrial ambition — have been reduced to historical relics, gulping billions in turnaround maintenance while producing little more than excuses.
