Your Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC),
On behalf of the New Delta Grassroot Movement, we write to you in great distress over the reckless conduct and divisive tendencies of Festus Keyamo (SAN), the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, whose actions threaten the foundation and future of our great party in Delta State.
In a shameful gathering held at night with a handful of individuals, Festus Keyamo was seen in a viral video boasting that “anyone claiming to be an APC leader in the state that is not in the room is a comedian.” With this careless statement, Keyamo insulted the founding fathers, genuine stakeholders, and loyal members of APC in Delta State. More specifically, his words were a direct attack on Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the pillar on whose back Delta APC achieved unprecedented success.
It is on record that under the leadership of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the APC in Delta State recorded its highest political achievements: capturing National Assembly seats, increasing our representation in the Delta State House of Assembly, and standing firmly as a credible alternative to the ruling party in the state. These victories were not accidents — they were the product of strategic planning, grassroots mobilization, personal sacrifice, and visionary leadership.
Festus Keyamo, on the other hand, is a political opportunist whose history in Delta APC is stained with self-serving ambitions, betrayals, and a complete lack of grassroots support. At critical moments when the party needed unity and leadership, Keyamo was nowhere to be found. When sacrifices were made and battles fought in the trenches, he was absent. Yet today, buoyed by federal appointment, he arrogantly insults those who built what he now seeks to hijack.
Beyond his insulting remarks, Keyamo has now weaponized his ministerial office to arm-twist, threaten, and coerce elected officials in Delta State — individuals who owe their mandates to the hard work and leadership of Ovie Omo-Agege. He has resorted to blackmail, using the power of federal influence to force allegiance to himself at the expense of party unity.
This tyranny must not be allowed to stand.
Festus Keyamo is actively destabilizing the APC in Delta State. His reckless behavior is already sowing disunity, encouraging factionalism, and giving hope to the opposition. His obsession with personal power is greater than his commitment to the success of our party. This is not the character of a leader. This is the behavior of a political saboteur.
Mr. President, Dr. Ganduje, we call on you to act decisively. We demand that Festus Keyamo be immediately cautioned and restrained from further actions that could destroy Delta APC. We also call for the recognition and strengthening of the structures built under Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who remains the rallying point for true progressives in the state.
The APC must reward loyalty and punish betrayal. We must protect those who sacrificed for our success, not allow opportunists like Keyamo to insult them without consequences. Festus Keyamo is not the face of Delta APC. He is not the voice of Delta APC. He is not even a legitimate stakeholder, but a mere beneficiary of our collective struggle.
We urge you to move swiftly to save Delta APC from collapse. The Renewed Hope Agenda must begin with fairness within our party. Let Keyamo be reminded that federal appointment does not translate into political ownership of Delta State.
The APC in Delta belongs to its genuine members, not a self-appointed emperor intoxicated by transient power.
