Malami, Atiku, El-Rufai, Tambuwal, Others Meet Buhari in Kaduna, Spark 2027 Realignment Buzz

In what many are describing as the clearest sign yet of a brewing political shift, a powerful delegation of Nigeria’s top political figures—Abubakar Malami, Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Aminu Tambuwal, Isa Pantami, and Jibrilla Bindow—gathered at the Kaduna residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Though the meeting was framed as a private visit, the convergence of these political heavyweights—cutting across party lines and past rivalries—has triggered intense speculation about a strategic realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku’s presence under the same roof as Buhari and El-Rufai has particularly raised eyebrows, given their storied political history. Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation; Tambuwal, ex-Speaker and former Sokoto governor; and Pantami, a key northern technocrat, all added significant weight to what is being perceived as a high-stakes political recalibration.

Insiders familiar with the meeting hinted that discussions revolved around Nigeria’s current political trajectory, the need for stability, and forging a common front to rescue the country from economic and security woes.

While no official statement has been issued, the symbolism of the meeting is unmistakable. Like the early days of the APC merger, this Kaduna convergence could mark the beginning of a new political alliance that may challenge the status quo and reshape the 2027 electoral landscape.

For now, all eyes remain fixed on Kaduna, where history may have just begun to repeat itself.
