The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has set May 9 as the official start date for the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj. The operation will run through to May 24, ensuring the smooth transportation of 43,000 pilgrims.
In a recent meeting with State Pilgrims' Welfare Boards, NAHCON confirmed that four airlines—Air Peace, FlyNas, Max Air, and Umza—will carry out the airlift, with a total of 43,000 pilgrims scheduled for the journey. The airline allocations are as follows: Air Peace (5,128), FlyNas (12,506), Max Air (15,203), and Umza (10,163). To ensure seamless operations, multiple aircraft will be deployed.
Return flights for pilgrims will commence on June 13 and conclude by July 2. NAHCON has also confirmed medical arrangements, with clinics set up in Makkah and Madinah, alongside the distribution of Yellow Cards to ensure the health and safety of all pilgrims. The Commission has advised states to refrain from registering pregnant women for the pilgrimage to prevent any health-related complications.
