Where Is Wike? FCT Minister Absent As President Tinubu Marks Birthday

By Mohammed Bello Doka

Questions are swirling over the whereabouts of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, after his conspicuous absence at the Presidential Villa as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marked his 73rd birthday. The event, attended by top government officials and political allies, saw a glaring omission—the former Rivers State governor, a key figure in the current administration, was nowhere to be found.

Rumors have begun to circulate that Wike was flown abroad for medical treatment after allegedly collapsing during a high-level meeting. Sources within political circles whisper of a sudden health scare that required urgent attention, but no official statement has been issued to confirm or deny these claims. Could this explain his absence from such a significant gathering?

Adding to the mystery, Wike has been unusually silent in recent days, with no public appearances or statements. His absence has only fueled speculations of a possible power tussle, health concerns, or even undisclosed diplomatic engagements. Given his well-known political agility and unwavering presence in major national affairs, his vanishing act raises critical questions.

Is the FCT Minister truly unwell, or is there another reason behind his sudden disappearance from the political stage? If he indeed suffered a medical emergency, why has the government not addressed the matter openly? Could this be linked to recent tensions between Wike and certain political stakeholders, or is it simply an extended leave?

For now, Wike’s whereabouts remain uncertain. Until an official statement emerges, Nigerians can only speculate on the fate of one of the country’s most vocal and influential politicians.
