Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to former President Muhammadu Buhari during a special visit to his new residence in Kaduna. The visit, which coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, was not only a gesture of goodwill but also a formal welcome as Buhari settles into Kaduna after spending two years in Daura since leaving office.

Malami, a key figure in the Buhari administration and one of the longest-serving ministers, arrived at Buhari’s residence in the company of a powerful entourage, including his son, Abdulaziz Malami,Prince Sule-Iko Sadeeq Sami , Hon. Dr. Sadik Fakai, Mustapha Shehu, Aminulah Jega, Alhaji Bello Nasarawa, and several other close allies. The visit, described as warm and reflective, saw Malami and his team extending Ramadan greetings while pledging continued allegiance to the former president.

As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former chief law officer of the country, Malami played a pivotal role in the legal reforms of the Buhari administration. Under his leadership, the Ministry of Justice led several high-profile anti-corruption cases, recovered looted assets, and implemented judicial reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s legal system. His tenure saw landmark legal battles, including efforts to repatriate stolen public funds from foreign jurisdictions and the enactment of key laws aimed at combating financial crimes.

Speaking during the visit, Malami expressed deep gratitude for Buhari’s leadership, describing him as a beacon of integrity and selfless service. He assured the former president of his continued loyalty, vowing to uphold the principles and policies they both worked tirelessly to implement during Buhari’s eight-year tenure.

Buhari, in his characteristic humility, welcomed Malami and his entourage warmly, appreciating their prayers and steadfast support. Sources close to the meeting described it as a moment of deep reflection, with discussions touching on national unity, governance, and the need for continued collaboration among allies.

As Buhari transitions into a more private life in Kaduna, the visit from Malami and his associates serves as a strong reminder of his enduring influence in Nigeria’s political landscape. It also underscores the loyalty and camaraderie among those who played key roles in shaping the policies and decisions of his administration.
