JANDOR Applauds Lawmakers for Pushing Lagos LCDA Upgrade

The Lead Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and former Lagos gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR), has commended Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Hon. Babajimi Benson, and Hon. Enitan Dolapo Badru for sponsoring a constitutional amendment bill aimed at upgrading Lagos State’s 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to full-fledged Local Government Areas.

JANDOR described the move as a long-overdue step toward deepening grassroots governance and ensuring Lagosians benefit from improved service delivery and decentralization. He noted that the people of Lagos have long sought federal recognition for their LCDAs, and this legislative effort aligns with their aspirations.

Hon. Faleke (Ikeja Federal Constituency), Hon. Benson (Ikorodu Federal Constituency), and Hon. Badru (Lagos Island I Federal Constituency), alongside 19 other lawmakers, have successfully advanced the bill through its second reading in the House of Representatives.

“This legislative push is a milestone in our quest for a functional and efficient local government system in Lagos. Hon. Faleke, Hon. Benson, and Hon. Badru have shown true representation by prioritizing Lagosians' interests,” JANDOR stated.

He urged all stakeholders, including other lawmakers and Lagos residents, to support the bill’s passage, emphasizing that the LCDA upgrade will enhance development, strengthen governance, and improve infrastructure at the grassroots level.
