Dr. Betta Edu Hosts Emir of Kano, Acting Governor, and UNICAL VC for Iftar in Calabar

In a rare display of unity and cultural harmony, Dr. Betta Edu hosted an Iftar gathering in Calabar, bringing together His Highness, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, the Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi, among other dignitaries.

The Emir, who also serves as the Chancellor of the University of Calabar, arrived with his entourage to partake in the breaking of the Ramadan fast. Professor Obi led the Chairman and members of the University's Governing Council, the University Management, and the entire university community, including students.

The leadership of the Muslim community in Cross River State, along with other Muslim faithful, also graced the occasion, fostering interfaith ties at a time when Christian faithfuls are observing their annual Lenten season.

Dr. Betta Edu commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for promoting national unity, cultural appreciation, and interfaith harmony.

She extended warm Ramadan Kareem wishes to the Muslim community and congratulated her alma mater, the University of Calabar, on its Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
