The Coalition of Northern Groups for Tinubu Shettima, under the leadership of Hon. Yusi Buba, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider bringing back Betta Edu to the administration, citing her exceptional contributions during her tenure as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

In a passionate statement, Hon. Yusi Buba emphasized Edu's significant achievements and unwavering commitment to the goals of the administration. “Betta Edu’s work has been nothing short of remarkable. She demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing the welfare of the vulnerable, especially in the Northern region, where poverty and humanitarian challenges have been most pressing,” Buba said.

Buba highlighted Edu’s successful initiatives that targeted the most marginalized sectors of society, including her role in expanding social welfare programs aimed at providing food aid, medical care, and financial assistance to those affected by crises. Under her leadership, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs launched the National Social Investment Program (NSIP), which provided relief to millions of Nigerians, particularly women and children in rural areas.

“She has set a standard in how government agencies should respond to the needs of the people, making sure that aid reaches the grassroots level without delay,” Buba added. “Her commitment to improving the living conditions of the less privileged cannot be ignored, and the people have spoken loud and clear—they want her back in the government.”

Citing her role in strengthening the relationship between the federal government and international humanitarian organizations, Yusi Buba also noted that Edu’s strategic collaborations had brought in much-needed support to Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations. "Her diplomatic skills and ability to forge partnerships with global donors were pivotal in securing funding and resources for the nation's humanitarian programs," Buba affirmed.

Edu’s efforts to reform and modernize the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were also underscored. She streamlined operations, ensuring that emergency responses were timely and efficient, which earned her praise from international relief organizations.

“Betta Edu has always put the interests of the people first,” Yusi Buba stated. “The Northern region, where the socio-economic challenges are most pronounced, benefitted greatly from her initiatives. Her record speaks for itself.”

In concluding his appeal, Hon. Yusi Buba urged President Tinubu to listen to the people, as he believes their voice represents the will of God. "Reinstating her would be a step in the right direction for the growth and success of this administration. Betta Edu is a leader who understands the needs of the people and has shown time and again that she is capable of delivering positive results."

As calls for her return intensify, the fate of Betta Edu’s political future now lies in the hands of President Tinubu, with many supporters hopeful that her dedication and proven record will pave the way for her continued service to the nation.
