Waiya Holds Maiden Meeting With Management Staff and Heads of Agencies

The Kano State Commissioner of Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has convened his inaugural meeting with the management staff of the ministry to familiarize himself with their responsibilities and explore strategies to enhance service delivery.

During the meeting, the directors provided comprehensive briefings on their departmental duties and highlighted critical areas that require attention to improve the ministry's operations.

Addressing the management team, the Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the ministry through digitalization, aiming to deliver efficient and effective services in line with global best practices.

Comrade Waiya also underscored his dedication to improving the welfare of management staff and information officers working in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as Local Government Areas (LGAs). He pledged to prioritize training and retraining programs to equip personnel with modern skills for effective dissemination of government policies and programs.

Additionally, the Commissioner assured the team that necessary working materials would be provided to enhance productivity and performance.

In a related development, the Commissioner held a separate meeting with the Heads of Agencies under the ministry to foster collaboration and synergy.

During the session, each Head of Agency presented a report on their achievements and highlighted areas where the ministry's intervention is needed to achieve their goals.

The Heads of Agencies in attendance included the Managing Director of Radio Kano, Adamu Abubakar Rano; Managing Director of Kano Printing Press, Yahaya Muhammad Idris; Managing Director of Triumph Publishing Company, Muhammad Hamisu Abdullahi; Managing Director of the Censorship Board, Abba El-Mustaph; and Managing Director of Abubakar Rimi Television, Hauwa Isa Ibrahim.

In his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Adamu Bala Muhammad, assured the Commissioner of the staff’s unwavering support in steering the ministry toward achieving its mandate.
