The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for appointing Comrade Ibrahim Waiya as the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, describing the choice as both timely and well-deserved.
In a statement jointly signed by the Kano State Coordinator, Aishatu Sule, and Secretary, Adamu Ibrahim Dabo, the SNB lauded Comrade Waiya’s dedication and competence, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in the new role.
The statement highlighted Comrade Waiya’s three decades of experience as a civil society activist, emphasizing that his expertise and leadership skills would bring about a significant transformation in the state’s information management system.
“With his dexterity and vast experience, we believe the government’s information system will witness positive changes under his stewardship,” the statement read.
The SNB called on broadcast, print, and online media practitioners, as well as other stakeholders in the state’s information sector, to provide Comrade Waiya with the necessary support and cooperation to advance the profession to greater heights.
The organization also congratulated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on his achievements so far and wished him continued success in completing his remaining years in office.
