Delta APC Must Stay United: Debunking the Misleading Claims of Shadowy Groups

By Engr. Felix Akpoyibo, National Coordinator, New Delta Grassroot Movement

The recent statement credited to the so-called Delta North APC Advocates (DNAA), which denounced Senator Ovie Omo-Agege's proposed appreciation tour, is nothing but a mischievous ploy orchestrated to create division within the Delta APC. As a loyal member of the party and an advocate for grassroots mobilization, I feel compelled to set the record straight and expose the lies propagated by this shadowy group.

1. DNAA Is a PDP-Sponsored Group

The so-called DNAA is an unrecognized and faceless entity within the APC structure. Its sole purpose appears to be the spreading of falsehoods to destabilize the party. Credible information points to this group being sponsored by the People's Democratic Party (PDP), which is panicking over the APC’s growing influence in Delta State. This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to distract from the rising momentum of the APC ahead of 2027.

2. Senator Omo-Agege’s Appreciation Tour Is Genuine

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s intention to embark on an appreciation tour across Delta North is a commendable initiative that underscores his commitment to recognizing the efforts of APC members and stakeholders who supported him during the 2023 elections. Any claims to the contrary are baseless and should be dismissed. Senator Omo-Agege has always respected the party’s structures and its leadership in all senatorial districts.

3. False Claims of Disrespect and Incitement

The allegations that Senator Omo-Agege disrespected Delta North APC leaders or incited divisions are unfounded. As a former Deputy Senate President and a key figure in the APC, he has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the party and its structures. Those making such claims are either uninformed or deliberately spreading falsehoods to tarnish his image.

4. DNAA’s Real Agenda

The timing of this statement, coupled with its divisive rhetoric, reveals DNAA’s true intentions. The group is a tool of the PDP, aiming to sow seeds of discord within the APC to slow the party’s growth and unity. Delta people must see through this charade and focus on the bigger goal of ensuring APC’s dominance in the state by 2027.

5. PDP’s Fear of APC’s Rising Influence

It is clear that the PDP is alarmed by the APC’s growing popularity in Delta State. This explains their resort to such underhanded tactics. However, their schemes will not succeed because the APC is united and committed to delivering good governance to the people of Delta State.

 A Call for Unity

I urge all members of the Delta APC to ignore the distractions created by DNAA and its sponsors. Let us remain focused on building a united and formidable party capable of delivering victory in 2027. The PDP and its allies must accept that Delta State is ready for change, and the APC is the only party that can deliver that change.

 Conclusion

Delta APC members should disregard the baseless claims made by DNAA. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s appreciation tour is a genuine effort to foster unity and build stronger bonds within the party. We must not allow shadowy groups or external forces to derail our progress. The APC is on a mission to transform Delta State, and no amount of mischief can stop us. New Delta Grassroot Movement and all genuine APC family firmly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for a bigger, better and Prosperous Delta State.

Signed,
