I Will Unseat Adeleke In 2026, Ogun APC Chieftain Boasts

By Rahama Abubakar

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Kabiru Adeniyi Adisa, has declared his intention to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2026 governorship election.

Adisa, who described himself as the best candidate to lead Osun State, cited his wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and a proven track record of impactful community service as his qualifications for the position.

In a statement issued in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Adisa outlined his plans for Osun State and his determination to defeat Governor Adeleke at the polls.

“As a committed leader, I have dedicated the past two decades to community development through transformative programs such as scholarships, maternal and infant health initiatives, and youth empowerment projects. These efforts have positively impacted thousands across Osun State,” he stated.

Highlighting his credentials, Adisa added:
“My tenure as President of the Guidance Community Development Foundation and my experience as a Financial Controller in the corporate sector have equipped me with the skills to deliver measurable results, manage resources effectively, and drive inclusive growth.

“My unwavering commitment to youth and women empowerment is evident through initiatives like summer classes for secondary school students, scholarship schemes, and an interest-free loan program benefiting women and youth. These projects, sustained over the past six years, demonstrate my dedication to building capacity and fostering economic opportunities.

“Food security will be a cornerstone of my administration. By supporting smallholder farmers, investing in modern agricultural practices, and enhancing access to affordable inputs, we will ensure Osun becomes self-reliant in food production. My government will prioritize value-chain development, establish agro-processing hubs, and open access to local and international markets, creating jobs and improving livelihoods.”

Adisa also emphasized his expertise in financial planning and industrial project management, pledging to attract investments that would transform Osun into a hub of industrial and economic activity.

“I have a deep connection to the grassroots and a firm dedication to the vulnerable. My governance will be inclusive and people-centered, addressing the needs of both rural and urban communities. Initiatives such as providing mobility aids, clothing, and academic materials reflect my commitment to uplifting the most vulnerable members of our society,” he said.

Adisa further outlined plans to leverage Osun’s abundant mineral resources and tourism attractions to fund social projects and drive sustainable development. He also promised to utilize his strong connections with foreign donors from the United States, Europe, and Arab countries to ensure a steady flow of resources for the state’s advancement.

“Under the banner of ‘Together for a Progressive Osun,’ I will unite our state, transcending political and social divides to deliver development, transparency, and integrity in governance. My actionable plans will address pressing challenges in healthcare, education, food security, infrastructure, and equitable resource distribution.

“I am ready to serve Osun State with integrity, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to progress. I have done it before on a smaller scale, and now I am prepared to do it again on a larger one. Osun, I am ready. Send me. Together, we will build a better, more prosperous Osun State for all,” Adisa concluded.
