In a heartwarming gesture reflecting his dedication to the welfare of Borno State residents, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the early payment of December salaries and pensions for civil servants and retirees on the state government’s payroll.

The payments, disbursed on Friday, December 13, 2024, underscore Governor Zulum’s unwavering commitment to ensuring financial stability for workers and pensioners during the festive period.

Known for his proactive governance, Zulum had earlier positioned Borno State as one of the pioneers of the N70,000 minimum wage policy, a significant boost to the state's workforce and a testament to his administration's prioritization of the people’s welfare.

This early disbursement directive is part of the Governor’s efforts to foster inclusivity and allow residents ample time to prepare for the Christmas season, regardless of religious or cultural background.

In a statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, it was emphasized that, "Governor Zulum remains committed to ensuring that no resident, irrespective of their faith or identity, feels left behind, particularly during this time of goodwill and celebration.”

The move has been widely commended by workers and pensioners, who view it as yet another demonstration of Zulum’s compassionate leadership and focus on people-centered governance.
