NIHSA Engages with Chinese Firm for Infrastructure Development Collaboration

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NHSA), led by Director General Umar Ibrahim Mohammed, recently welcomed Ms. Sophia Jiang, Deputy Representative of Africa for the North China Power Engineering Consulting Group (CEEC), and Mr. Hnoi Jiang. The delegation, representing China Power Engineering Consulting Group (CPECC), visited NHSA to explore collaboration opportunities aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s hydrological and infrastructural development.

CPECC, renowned for its expertise in engineering planning, consulting, and design services, operates across diverse sectors such as energy, power, environmental protection, water, and smart cities. The discussions between the two parties focused on potential partnerships in hydrological management, water resource planning, and environmental sustainability.

Director General Umar Ibrahim Mohammed emphasized the significance of advanced engineering solutions for enhancing Nigeria’s hydrological infrastructure, improving water resource management, and addressing the country’s pressing infrastructural needs. He expressed optimism that the partnership with CPECC could drive progress in these areas.

Ms. Sophia Jiang conveyed CPECC’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s development efforts, particularly in building resilient and sustainable hydrological systems. She expressed CPECC’s eagerness to contribute to the country’s infrastructure and environmental objectives.
