Hon. Yusi Buba Calls on Tinubu to Reconsider Cabinet Changes, Uphold Youth Inclusion

In a recent statement that underscores the growing concern among young Nigerians, Hon. Yusi Buba, the National Coordinator of the Tinubu One to Tell 50 support organization, expressed profound dissatisfaction with the recent cabinet reshuffle orchestrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. The reshuffle resulted in the removal of two youthful ministers, replaced by individuals aged over sixty, raising concerns over the administration’s commitment to youth representation.

Speaking to BBC and VOA Hausa services in Abuja, Hon. Buba called upon President Tinubu to reconsider the appointments and ensure that his cabinet reflects the demographic vibrancy of Nigeria. He urged the President to prioritize young leaders who understand the challenges facing the youth and can actively engage with the evolving landscape of global governance. “The youth played a pivotal role in bringing this government to power; they deserve a voice and a visible place within it,” he remarked.

Hon. Buba further reminded the President of his numerous campaign promises, particularly those centered on empowering and including the youth in governance. He cautioned that failing to meet these expectations could tarnish the legacy and achievements of the administration. “Mr. President, do not let the actions of those around you undermine the goodwill and hope that millions of young Nigerians have placed in your leadership,” he said.

The Coordinator underscored that youth representation is not merely a symbolic gesture but a vital element in ensuring Nigeria’s long-term stability, innovation, and progress. According to Hon. Buba, a youthful cabinet would enhance the nation’s ability to address contemporary challenges, from economic hardship to technological advancement, in ways that resonate with the country’s largest demographic.

Buba concluded with a direct appeal, emphasizing that it is high time the administration fulfilled its commitment to inclusivity. He called on President Tinubu to urgently review the recent appointments and foster a leadership structure that embodies both experience and youthful dynamism for the benefit of Nigeria’s future.
