In a recent development, the Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of petrol from N990 to N970 per litre. This move, as explained by the management of the 650,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery, is a gesture of gratitude towards Nigerians for their continuous support in making the refinery project a reality.
The new pricing, applicable to marketers sourcing products directly from the refinery, was officially communicated on Sunday. Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer for Dangote, signed the statement expressing the company's appreciation. "This reduction is our way of repaying the good people of Nigeria for standing with us throughout the challenging journey of establishing the refinery," the statement read.
The Dangote Refinery, hailed as a monumental achievement in the Nigerian energy sector, has aimed to ease the financial burden on the nation’s citizens while positioning itself as a reliable player in the industry. As the refinery continues to ramp up operations, this latest price reduction is seen as a significant step in forging a stronger relationship with the public.
