President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Luong Cuong on his election as the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The 67-year-old leader, who boasts over 40 years of military service and has been a Politburo member since 2021, was chosen by the parliament to take on this significant role.
In his message, President Tinubu welcomed Cuong's post-election pledge to position Vietnam as "a friend, a trusted partner, an active and responsible member of the international community." He expressed Nigeria's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties in various sectors, including trade, agriculture, food production, education, and cultural and technological exchange.
Highlighting the enduring friendly relations between Nigeria and Vietnam, President Tinubu reaffirmed their shared dedication to fostering a peaceful world.
