Resign your Position as Ikpoba Okha LGA Council Chairman as a Proof of your Loyalty: A Modest Call on Eric Iyobor Osayande

By Kelvin Osasu Egharevba Esq.

5th, October, 2024.

Ikpoba okha LGA is described as the largest local Government Area in Edo state majorly because of its voting strength. It is that Local Government that is alleged to be controlled by the Former SSG of Edo state. It is also that local Government where the failed Obaseki Administration forcefully claimed the landed properties of Edo indigenes and destroyed their houses while the council chairman and the former SSG folded their hands doing nothing, nodding with approval sacrificing the people for their personal interest on the alter of what they consider as "loyalty". As far as they are concerned, the child of the poor indigenes can go to hell, provided their interest of becoming Deputy Governor and House of Assembly member after serving as SSG and Council chairman respectively is protected.

It is in this same Local Government that the Rice palliative met for the poor indigenes of the state was discovered in 2 different locations, being re-baged with the intention to use same for vote buying. A device that was only frustrated by God Almighty using the great youth of Urora and Eyen communities.

It is in this same Local Government that the Council Chairman is currently, hurriedly putting together chalets he refers to as Markets in his Ward in other to have something to tie the misappropriated funds of the Local Government to, seeing that there are allegations everywhere right now that he has diverted the Local Government funds for the Election of the one he claims to be his Leader.

There are further allegations that the Local Government is currently indebted to some Banks as a result of the misappropriation of funds for election purposes. These are allegations that will need proofs with time. But we sincerely hope this is not true.

I put myself in the shoes of Eric IYOBOR OSAYANDE! If I where him, given the way I once adored and have respect for the former SSG until he sent me away (on the 15th day of February, 2023 at about 10:44am in his office, as witnessed by Com. Isoken Omo, one Mutari Osagie and One Esohe Ighide Ahamioje) claiming that I worked for Labour party , I would have by now sent in my resignation letter as The Local Government Council Chairman in demonstration of my Loyalty to the former SSG.

Fact check; the Former SSG made sure he became council chairman for the two term running. And it is alleged that the said Osayende was already being prepared to take over as House of Assembly member Representing the local Government after his tenure as council chairman, and your guess is as good as mine, as to who was arranging all this for the Sandal-wearing Council Chairman.

It's so sad when watcher take a look at various videos of protest by the Factional PDP, particularly to INEC office located in Ikpoba okha, and The said Eric IYOBOR OSAYANDE is missing in all the clips. After what the former SSG has done for you? One would have thought that you will be in the forefront leading the protest.

It is a pain in my heart that those of you who have benefited most (Eric IYOBOR OSAYANDE, Kennedy Osifo, etc) from the former SSG are hiding in Law House and making secret calls to the opposition while those who took crumbs from the master's table are rolling on the ground on National TV protesting against the freest and fairest elections I have ever witnessed as a young man. Haven being misled again these my brothers and sisters are protesting currently against an exercise they were part of in support of the leader.

If after 14 days of your seeing this Article, you have still not turned in your resignation as I would have done, in Loyalty to the former SSG, then I dear say shame on you!
Shame on your generation!

I dear say finally, that for the mistake the former SSG made in falsely accusing me of working for Labour party based on your set-up and then sending me away, I would have been in the forefront leading the protest if there was actually something to protest about. With all sense of responsibility, if someone like Mutari Osagie was around, he would have also been at the forefront leading the protest in support of the former SSG. I dear say again that if I was council chairman at this time, or someone like Mutari Osagie or Clive Otuogo Tallest was council chairman, our resignation letter would have been turned in by now as a proof of our Loyalty.

Do well to prove us wrong!
