The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., has applauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its overwhelming success in the recent Kaduna State local government elections. The party secured all 23 local government chairmanship positions and 255 councilorship seats in the polls conducted on Saturday.
Speaker Abbas extended special congratulations to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for steering the APC to victory across the state, recognizing it as a testament to the party's strong grassroots support. The election results, announced by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), Hajara Mohammed, confirmed the APC's clean sweep. She stated, "The electoral officers and returning officers have filed their reports, and at the end of the exercise, the APC won the 23 chairmanship positions and 255 councilorship seats in the state."
The Speaker also expressed his optimism for the newly elected officials, including Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, the new Chairman of Zaria Local Government and former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker on Administration. Speaker Abbas urged the newly elected leaders to focus on bringing meaningful development to the grassroots, emphasizing that the people of Kaduna State expect nothing less than committed service.
As the APC celebrates its resounding victory, the Speaker reiterated the importance of maintaining the momentum of progress in Kaduna State, ensuring that the party's mandate translates into tangible benefits for the citizens.
