Manchester United has finalized its search for a new manager, reaching an agreement with Sporting Lisbon's Rúben Amorim. The Portuguese strategist will officially take charge on November 11, following Ruud van Nistelrooy's interim tenure.
According to insider reports, Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon have completed negotiations, securing a contract for Amorim that extends until June 2027. As part of the deal, Sporting Lisbon will receive the full €10 million release clause for Amorim, along with an additional €1 million to cover staff transition expenses and a required 30-day notice period.
Amorim's arrival marks a fresh start for Manchester United, a club that has struggled to maintain stability and high performance in recent seasons. At just 38, Amorim has built an impressive resume, having led Sporting Lisbon to back-to-back Primeira Liga titles and a Taça da Liga trophy in 2021, showcasing his ability to cultivate success through structured team play and tactical discipline.
