Purchase of Tractors for Each LGA in Kwara: Matters Arising 2

By Kola King (JP)

If there is anything I like about Gov. AA's administration, it is the openness/showcasing of its works to the people through the various media apparatus that it has created and the administration has not failed to utilize effectively. And without mincing words, those in charge of the administration's media outfits are doing a yeo-man's job and I usually salute their professionalism.

So many times, I am always at home with their professional handling of torning issues and the way they made things clear to the public, which has made it very difficult for opposition party media outfits  to outsmart them or dispute the claims and records presented by the government information apparatus! To me, the AA's Media outfits, both print, and traditional outlets deserves all the praises they have so far commanded.

However, I just want to draw their attention to a recent vital omission and which I believe would go a long way to truly confirm and shame  the doubting Thomas(es) about the  the flying rumours surrounding the true state of the functionality of the tractors just procured for the LGAs by the State government.

As readers that may have  followed my post on the issue recently may have recall, I had in a write-up drew attention to the fact that some of the tractors that were on their ways to some LGAs in Kwara South last weekend stopped on the way and that even one of them had to be packed in a police station for safety, once discovered that it wasn't able to journey further. Though the public is yet to get a rejoinder to dispute that report and there has not been any further report to proof otherwise, my candid view is that the concerned authorities in the State should have presented or display pictures or videos of the handover ceremonies of those tractors to the public as they were being receive by respective LGAs to clear our peoples' doubts.

Up and until the time of writing this report, it is very appaling that that has not been done and those concerned have not thought it wise to do so.

By that ineptitude action, the opinion of some of us is that there are certain things being hidden and by so doing, not helping our amiable governor in his unrelented efforts to make the difference from what we are used to in the past so far as expedition of public funds is concerned.

Accordingly, it is the candid view of many of us that still wish the administration of Gov  AA well, that all efforts should be made without further delay to do the needful to assure our people that those tractors purchased with our money are not just new, but functional and would be effective for the purpose for which they have been so purchased. I equally urge them to leave no stone unturned to clear the doubt of our people and to ensure that if at all there is any iota of doubt from the deal arising from  the purchase, those found culpable should be so exposed accordingly and to face the appropriate measure(s) rather than bringing the good work and intention of the State's government into disrepute.

....a word they say.....

As usual, I am just thinking aloud ooo, and stand to be corrected always.

Happy weekend to all!!!
