Court Grants ₦10 Million Bail To 10 Protesters

By Mohammed Bello Doka

In a notable legal breakthrough, the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to 10 protesters involved in the #EndBadGovernance movement. These individuals, previously held on treason charges, were each granted bail to the tune of ₦10 million by Justice Emeka Nwite.

The judge emphasized the fundamental principle of the presumption of innocence, ensuring that the accused have the right to freedom until proven guilty. Abubakar Marshall, the defense counsel, strongly advocated for the release of the protesters, arguing that they should be allowed to return home while the case continues.

This decision is a major win for human rights advocates who have been pushing for greater accountability and transparency in governance. As the protesters prepare for trial, their release marks a significant moment in the ongoing struggle to end bad governance in Nigeria.
