Breaking News: President Tinubu Makes Important Appointment

In a strategic move to strengthen the economic landscape, President Bola Tinubu has appointed a new board for the Bank of Industry Limited (BOI), a crucial institution in Nigeria’s development agenda. The appointments, announced through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, signal a renewed commitment to fostering economic growth, job creation, and poverty alleviation.

Leading the newly appointed board is Dr. Mansur Muhtar, OFR, who has been named Chairman. Dr. Muhtar brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Minister of Finance, Budget, and Economic Development from 2008 to 2010. His career, which spans finance, international development, public service, and academia, most recently saw him as the Vice-President of Operations at the Islamic Development Bank.

Joining him are several distinguished individuals:  
- **Dr. Olasupo Olusi** as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer  
- **Mrs. Ifeoma Uz'Okpala** as Executive Director for Large Enterprises  
- **Mr. Shekarau Omar** as Executive Director for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises  
- **Mr. Usen Effiong** as Executive Director for Corporate Services  
- **Ms. Mabel Ndagi** as Executive Director for Public Sector & Intervention Programmes  
- **Mr. Rotimi Akinde** as Executive Director for Corporate Finance & Risk Management  

The board also includes notable non-executive directors representing key sectors and institutions:  
- **Mallam Tajudeen Datti Ahmed** from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated  
- **Mr. Adedamola Olufemi Young** from the Central Bank of Nigeria  
- **Reverend Isaac Adefemi Agoye** from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria  
- **Mallam Muhammad Bala** from the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment  
- **Mr. Oreoluwa Adeyemi** as an Independent Non-Executive Director  
- **Mr. Sulaiman Musa Kadira** as an Independent Non-Executive Director  

President Tinubu has expressed confidence in the newly appointed board, emphasizing the expectation for them to work harmoniously and with the highest level of dedication to advance the bank’s mandate.
