From the APC New Media Directorate
The All Progressives Congress (APC) strongly condemns the recent assassination attempt on our gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo. This brazen attack, believed to be orchestrated by hoodlums sponsored by the PDP in Edo State, occurred as Senator Okpebholo arrived in Benin. Tragically, this cowardly act resulted in the death of his police aide, while Senator Okpebholo narrowly escaped with his life.
In a deplorable and morally bankrupt move, the PDP has shamelessly twisted the narrative, accusing the APC of orchestrating the violence. This cynical attempt to deflect blame and politicize a tragedy where a human life was lost is both despicable and irresponsible.
The PDP's actions reflect a profound moral burden that underscores their unfitness to govern. Instead of taking responsibility and condemning violence, they have chosen to engage in dangerous propaganda, misleading the public, and playing politics with human lives. This behavior is a stark reminder of why the people of Edo State cannot and should not trust the PDP with their future.
The APC calls on the electorate to see through these deceitful tactics. Edo State deserves leaders who prioritize the safety, well-being, and development of its people, not those who resort to manipulation and fear-mongering to gain political advantage. The APC remains committed to transparency, integrity, and the welfare of all Edo citizens.
We urge the people of Edo State to stand firm against such manipulative and harmful strategies, and to support a leadership that values human life and moral integrity. The future of Edo is in your hands, and together, we can ensure a safer, more prosperous state for all.
