The harmonious relationship between father and son in Kwara State sets an exemplary standard for the nation. Since taking office, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has continuously acknowledged the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, led by his father, the Emir of Ilorin, as an integral part of the state's governance without interference.
Recently, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, expressed his commendation for Governor AbdulRazaq's harmonious approach by speaking in Latin. This rare gesture underscores the depth of his admiration and pride for his son's leadership.
In his address, the Emir highlighted the governor's dedication to inclusive governance and respect for traditional institutions. "Non nobis solum nati sumus," he began, meaning "Not for ourselves alone are we born," a reflection of Governor AbdulRazaq's selfless service to the people of Kwara State. This harmonious relationship between the traditional and governmental leadership has brought about significant positive changes in the state.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s tenure has been marked by numerous development projects across Kwara State, including improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development. The Emir emphasized that the governor’s efforts have been widely recognized and appreciated by both the local populace and national observers.
The Emir of Ilorin, filled with joy, called his son "lux bonorum operum" (the light of good deeds) and "lumen et dux" (torchbearer and leader) of Kwara's all-around development. These phrases encapsulate the governor's role in spearheading comprehensive growth and fostering a spirit of progress in the state.
The Emir's commendation has resonated well beyond the confines of Kwara State. Many well-meaning Nigerians, including the Council of Ulama (Islamic clerics) in Kwara State, have joined in acknowledging the positive impact of Governor AbdulRazaq's administration. This wide-ranging approval is seen as a testament to the effectiveness and inclusiveness of his governance.
Furthermore, the Emir remarked on the visible changes that have taken place under Governor AbdulRazaq's leadership, stating, "Even the blind can feel the extraordinary development under AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara State." This vivid metaphor captures the tangible improvements in the state’s infrastructure and public services that have benefited all residents, regardless
