In a recent statement, former Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, addressed the discontent among his supporters within the People Democratic Party (PDP). Shaibu revealed that many of his supporters felt marginalized and mistreated within the party, prompting discussions about their next political move.
Speaking to Punch News, Shaibu highlighted the grievances, stating, "We are asking people to hold on, but they keep moving to other parties daily. Others say they have no faith in the leadership of the party, that they have been maltreated, and that we all need to leave."
The former deputy governor further elaborated on the direction his supporters were considering, noting, "When I asked them where they wanted us to move, they said the APC." Despite previously supporting the PDP, Shaibu emphasized his commitment to his team, stating, "I am a team player, and if my team says we can no longer stay, I will follow them."
