In a decisive aerial operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) dealt a heavy blow to terrorist elements operating in Zamfara State. The coordinated strikes, executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji, resulted in the destruction of three terrorists’ camps linked to key figures in the extremist network.
According to NAF Spokesman AVM Edward Gabkwet, the precision strikes targeted the camps of Abdullahi Nasanda in Zurmi, Malam Tukur in Gusau, and another in Maradun Local Government Areas. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions provided critical insights into the terrorists' activities, leading to the identification and subsequent obliteration of their strongholds.
Gabkwet reported that multiple aircraft passes were employed to neutralize the terrorists, confirming the effectiveness of the operation in dismantling their infrastructure. The strikes not only eliminated numerous extremists but also inflicted significant damage on their facilities and equipment.
The success of the mission underscores the NAF's commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens. With these targeted operations, the military continues to degrade the capabilities of terrorist groups, preventing their ability to carry out further attacks and destabilize the region.
The swift and decisive action by the NAF serves as a testament to the nation's resolve in eradicating terrorism and fostering peace and stability in Zamfara State. As the fight against insurgency persists, such operations demonstrate Nigeria's determination to confront and overcome the menace of terrorism, safeguarding communities and restoring hope for a brighter, more secure future.
