In a dramatic turn of events, Justice Usman Mallam Na’Abba of the Kano state high court has reversed his earlier decision to suspend Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The judge made this reversal after considering a Motion Ex-Parte accompanied by an affidavit and a written address presented by the legal representatives of Ganduje.
Following a hearing with Mr. L. O. Oyewo Esq, alongside A. Falana Esq and J. Essiet Esq, counsel for the 4th Respondent/Applicant, the court granted an order of interim injunction, effectively halting the implementation of the previous suspension order issued on April 17, 2024.
Justice Na’abba's ruling mandates all involved parties to maintain the status quo as of April 15, 2024, specifically regarding the suspension of Ganduje by the Ganduje Ward Executive Committee. Additionally, the court has decreed that this injunction will remain in effect until the pending motion filed by the 4th respondent/applicant is heard and decided upon.
The case is scheduled for further proceedings on April 30, 2024. This development comes in response to an order secured by Haladu Gwanjo and Laminu Barguma, claiming to represent the APC Ganduje Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, which initially suspended Ganduje as the National Chairman of the party.
