In a resounding display of support for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu's administration, members of the defunct Presidential Campaign Council Northeast and the defunct Grassroot Independent Campaign Council also known as ICC Northeast convened to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorse his efforts in revitalizing the nation's economy and uplifting the most vulnerable segments of society. Central to their message was a fervent plea for the reinstatement of Dr. Betta Edu, whose resolute performance during the 2023 Presidential Campaign in the Northeast garnered widespread acclaim.
The meeting, held in a bustling NTA conference hall Jalingo, Taraba State, adorned with banners proclaiming support for President Tinubu's Renewed Hope agenda, buzzed with anticipation as delegates from across the region gathered to voice their support for Dr. Edu and reaffirm their commitment to the principles of meritocracy.
Keynote speaker, Hon Yusi Buba, Deputy Director Labour Directorates (PCC), took to the stage amidst a round of applause, his authoritative presence commanding attention. With eloquence and conviction, he lauded Dr. Betta Edu's exceptional leadership, recounting anecdotes of her tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to the cause. "Dr. Edu's exemplary performance during the presidential campaign exemplified the kind of leadership our nation sorely needs," he declared, his voice resounding through the hall.
Emphasizing the importance of meritocracy in governance, Hon Yusi Buba underscored how Dr. Edu's exclusion from the administration ran counter to the fundamental principles upon which the nation was founded. "Merit knows no bounds of gender, ethnicity, or political affiliation," he proclaimed, his words echoing the sentiments of many in attendance.
Echoing these sentiments, Hon Cynthia, a member of both councils, delivered a poignant testament to Dr. Edu's extraordinary leadership, her impassioned speech resonating with a fervent plea for justice and recognition of merit in the corridors of power. "Dr. Edu's dedication and expertise are unparalleled," she asserted, her voice tinged with emotion. "To exclude her from the administration would be a grave disservice to our nation and its people."
Haj Adda Uwa, Women Leader APC Northeast, stepped forward to address the gathering, her presence commanding respect. With a steely gaze and unwavering determination, she denounced Dr. Edu's exclusion as a glaring injustice that threatened to undermine the very fabric of meritocracy. "We cannot stand idly by while injustice prevails," she declared, her voice ringing out with conviction. "It is time to right this wrong and reinstate Dr. Betta Edu to her rightful position."
In a remarkable speech, Haj Karima Abdulkarim, a member of the Independent Campaign Council, illuminated the indispensable role of Dr. Edu in President Tinubu's administration, highlighting her dedication and expertise as irreplaceable assets. "Dr. Edu's reinstatement is not just a matter of opinion; it is a matter of necessity," she asserted, her words resonating with the crowd.
