In a surprising turn of events, Rahama Sadau, a revered veteran in the Kanywood film industry, made headlines once again as she declined an appointment into the Tinubu Shettima Women Campaign Council in 2023. However, her stance against partisan engagements didn't deter her from receiving recognition from an unexpected quarter—the Federal Government.
Recent reports confirm that Sadau has been inaugurated as a member of the IDICE (Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprise) technical committee, a role that carries significant weight in shaping the nation's digital and creative landscape. Tasked with providing strategic, technical, and operational support to the $617.7 million IDICE program, Sadau's appointment underscores her transition from political affiliations to a broader scope of national service.
This development comes amid growing discontent among party loyalists nationwide, who decry the perceived lack of appreciation and reward from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Notably, the neglect of influential figures like Dauda Kahutu Rarara and Babancinedu, prominent Kanywood musicians who fervently campaigned for the party, has fueled disillusionment within APC ranks.
