Police Foil Kidnapping Operation, Neutralize Bandits, Recover Arms

In a decisive blow to criminal activities plaguing Sokoto State, the Police Command executed a successful operation, intercepting suspected kidnappers and neutralizing bandits while seizing a cache of arms along the notorious Bodinga-Tambunwal Highway.

Acting swiftly on gathered intelligence, diligent operatives halted the nefarious plans of five individuals suspected to be integral members of a kidnapping syndicate. The suspects, identified as Abdullahi Ali, Aliyu Mohammed, Abdullahi Umar, Aliyu Abdullahi, and Mohammed Anas, were apprehended in possession of three AK-47 rifles, 90 rounds of live ammunition, and 3 AK-47 magazines.

Abdullahi Ali, speaking under interrogation, revealed chilling details, stating, "We were on our way to Tambuwal for a kidnapping operation." The arrests underscored the effectiveness of proactive policing in thwarting criminal endeavors and preserving public safety.

Furthermore, on the outskirts of Gigane Village, Sokoto State, the State Tactical Team engaged suspected bandits in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Displaying exceptional bravery and tactical acumen, the operatives neutralized several of the armed criminals. Among the seized weaponry was a GPMG rifle, along with six live ammunition rounds, disrupting the potential for further violence and mayhem.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, emphasized the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies in safeguarding the lives and property of citizens. "Efforts are intensified to locate other fleeing members of the gang and criminally minded elements in the state," Adejobi affirmed, reiterating the resolve to enforce the full extent of the law.

Quoting ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi: "Our dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all residents remains steadfast. We will continue to collaborate with stakeholders and leverage intelligence-driven strategies to rid our communities of criminal elements."
